Install Theme | Top ↑

System requirments:

To install this theme you must have a working version of WordPress already installed. Make sure you have clean WordPress setup. This installation guide will help you to install the WordPress.

The theme files can be uploaded in two ways: Through FTP or through WordPress dashboard.

  1. Using your FTP program: upload the non-zipped theme folder into the /wp-content/themes/ folder on your server.
  2. Upload Through WordPress: navigate to Appearance → Add Themes → Add New → Upload Theme → Install now. Once the theme is uploaded, you need to press Activate. Or navigate to Appearance → Themes and press Activate.

Look into the theme directory and find the

demo subdirectory. You'll find all import data files here.

Import Post Types | Top ↑

Before importing data, install Custom Post Type UI plugin. Then press CPT UI → Tools and paste data from post-types.txt into the Import Post Types textarea. Press Import.

To get demo pages with content like on demo website, install Wordpress Importer plugin:

There will be displayed a message during the import: "Assign authors. If a new user is created by WordPress, a new password will be randomly generated and the new user’s role will be set as subscriber. Manually changing the new user’s details will be necessary." in this case choose: "create new user with login name:" for each author and specify login names for them. Check also Download and import file attachments checkbox: Press Submit.

Then go to Users and for all just uploaded users change each user role to author(agents are authors) and fill other fields. Users → User name → Edit: Role → check author and fill in first name, last name, email, phone number, location and biographical info fields.

You can also delete just uploaded user with the name netgon.

Import Custom Fields | Top ↑

The same way import the Custom Fields plugin data from file advanced-custom-field-export.xml. Don't forget to install Advanced Custom Fields plugin.

Import Widgets | Top ↑

For widgets importing install and activate the Widget Importer & Exporter plugin. Press Import/Export. Choose elysium.wp-widgets.wie file and press Import Widgets

Go to Appearance → Menus and set each menu to it's location:

Pages | Top ↑

Go to Pages and create pages. Name them as you like.

Settings | Top ↑

Go to Settings and set Static Front and Posts pages (any pages as you like).

Set blog pages show at most — 12 (or divisible by 12) posts.

Menus | Top ↑

Go to Appearance and create new menu as Primary menu. Add some pages and save.

Create Social and Footer menu the same way.

Plugins | Top ↑

Plugins installation | Top ↑

To take more advantage the theme asks for installing some plugins. nce you will activate the theme, you will see a notice asks you for installing recommended plugins. To proceed click "Begin installing plugins".

Share buttons | Top ↑

Go to Settings — AddToAny and set:

Latest Tweets | Top ↑

Go to Settings — Twitter API and fill the settings. More information.

You can change number of tweets in the Footer Options.

Subscribe form | Top ↑

Go to Plugins - MailChimp for WP — Forms, fill the form fields. Remember that your form must have button tag for input and must be empty.

Here is the full form code:

Copy the Shortcode ID and paste it into the special field in custom options.

Properties | Top ↑

For this setting you need to have Custom Post Type UI plugin installed.

Press Add/Edit Post Types and fill the required fields (we named our Property post type "property", but you can choose any other name):

Press Add Post Type on the top or bottom of the page.

Testimonials | Top ↑

The same way add the Testimonial post type (we named our Testimonial post type "testimonial", but you can choose any other name).

Custom Fields | Top ↑

For this setting you need Advanced Custom Fields plugin.

Property | Top ↑

Go to Custom Fields and press Add New.

Name your field group as you prefere. Set the Post Type equal to Property (or other property post type name you have chosen before).

Press Add Fieldand set any fields you need. In our theme we use several required fields (as so: Field Label → Field Name → Field Type):

When you have set all fields, press Publish.

The same way create author's custom fields. In our theme we use position field and social links text fields (any names).

Theme Options | Top ↑

Site Logo | Top ↑

To change your header logo — go to the Site Identity section.

To change your header image — go to the Header Image section.

To change testimonials widget background image — go to the Background Image section.

Google map API key | Top ↑

Go to Appearance and press Customize.

Go to the Elysium Theme Options section.

On the General section enter your Google API key. Get the key.

Header Settings | Top ↑

You can change your site header color from transparent to white and chose whether you want to show your properties slider on the main page.

Footer Settings | Top ↑

Change the footer logo, contacts and other information on the bottom of the site.

Add your form shortcode ID from the MailChimp for WordPress plugin.

Change number of tweets if you need (this option exists only if Latest Tweets plugin is active).

Banners Widget Settings | Top ↑

Set banners to display on the Banners Widget.

Statistics Widget Settings | Top ↑

Set your agency statistics information, that will be displayed on the Statistics Widget.

Property Settings | Top ↑

If you have defined the property post type and fields or imported the demo data, you'll have the Property Section on your Elysium Theme Options panel.

Add coordinates of the center of property map.

Set your country valute prefix or suffix, minimal and maximal price for property filter and chose if you want to display share buttons on the property page.

Choose the fields to display on the price filter widget and property page. Set names of the fields.

Posts Settings | Top ↑

Choose whether to display the author of the single post and the posts number in the categories menu.

Set the number of the properties and agents on the properties archive/category and agents list.

Choose your property and testimonial custom post types, if your types names differ from ours.

Agents page | Top ↑

Chose the page to show the agents list and check if you want do display agent's properties on the agent single page. Set the heading of the property list.

Contact page | Top ↑

Set your company contacts, center of the map, the form shortcode ID from the Contact Form 7 plugin and the text on the left side from the map.

Agents | Top ↑

Agents are users with autor role.

You can add/edit new authors on the Users admin section.

In our template author has First and Last names, display name, email, social links, phone, address, position and biography.

To have a picture, author must have a profile in Gravatar.

Widgets | Top ↑

With Elysium widgets you can customize your pages appearance as you like.

Most of widgets have fullwidth and sidebar view. If the widget has no sidebar view, it will not be displayed on the sidebar.

If page has no right sidebar widgets (plased in the Right Sidebar widget panel), it will be displayed in the fullwidth mode.

Don't place more then one filter widget on the same page.

Change testimonials background in the Background Image WP Option.

Main page (exemple) | Top ↑

Go to Appearance —Widgets and move to Widgets Top panel the next widgets:

For all added pages check wisibility area Page: home (or other page you had set as front page).

You can choose many or all pages, categories, custom post types and authors to display any widget.

The result:

The image loaded as the thumbnail will be shown with the excerpt on the black background. If there's no excerpt - the image will be shown without the text. You can use

and other heading tags in the excerpt.

Blog post view | Top ↑

Set the post view in blog list by field post_view field that you have added in the Custom Fields plugin.

Post and Property Gallery | Top ↑

To make gallery according to Elysium template you have to make usial gallery in the text editor:

In the post gallery wide images will be automatically displayed as wide and high as high.

Property gallery will also take template view by itself.

Contact page | Top ↑

To set the map coordinates, contacts and form shortcode in the Appearance - Customize - Elysium Theme Options.

To get the form shortcode go to the Contact menu (Contact Form 7) and add the form according to this template:
